9/15/17, 2:52PM EDT… Happy Friday! Let’s begin today’s update by giving a huge round of applause to the Hyatt Regency Savannah! Despite the fact they were preparing pre-Irma, and then cleaning up post-Irma, they have served our event tirelessly and with complete class. Thank you!!
Secondly, we have an update on how to make your hotel reservation. The Hyatt Regency Savannah is already at or near capacity over the rescheduled set of dates, but there are many hotels nearby where you can make a room reservation.
We have one courtesy block remaining to help you successfully secure reservations. It is at:
If there is an alternative hotel you prefer, feel free to book elsewhere since you are not obligated to any particular courtesy block.
9/14/17, 1:38PM EDT… The Hyatt Regency, location of the Lean Accounting & Management Summit and the Lean People Development Summit, is near or at capacity, but not to worry! There are a large number of rooms available near the Hyatt and can be found easily on sites like Kayak.com. By Monday, September 18th, we will announce courtesy room blocks at a few hotels. Either way, there are great rates to be had throughout Savannah.
9/12/17, 3:04PM EDT… If you experience difficulty booking flights for the new set of Summit dates, we have heard (and experienced) that many airlines are allowing full refunds for cancellations. Instead of paying for “change fees,” ask your airline the policy on cancellation and THEN purchase flights as a new booking.
9/11/17, 10:53AM EDT… Good morning! Today we want to update you on the planning progress for the new summit dates. We continue to work with the Hyatt and other neighboring hotels in order to thoroughly provide options for our attendees to make room night reservations. As soon as room blocks/courtesy holds are solidified, a list of hotels will be posted.
We also take a moment to observe today, the Day of Remembrance, for those whose lives were tragically and senselessly lost this day 16 years ago.
9/10/17, 2:21PM EDT…A quick update for our Lean People Development Summit and Lean Accounting & Management community. We continue to work closely with the Hyatt in Savannah and will have some additional updates and instructions coming soon. Be looking early this next week and throughout the week. Thank you again for your patience.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are impacted in Florida and the other coastal areas of the States further north. We hope everyone stays safe and the clean up will go rapidly, smoothly and safely.
9/8/17, 11:35PM EDT… We’ve received several inquiries regarding hotel reservations for existing Summit registrants. If you booked a room with the Hyatt Regency for the original set of dates next week, your reservation has been cancelled by the hotel on your behalf. However, it has NOT been transferred over to the new, rescheduled dates. We will follow up with you next week on how to make a room reservation for the rescheduled set of dates. Hotels in Savannah are currently evacuating staff, preparing their facilities, and have limited ability to work through logistics of the reschedule. In the meantime, hang tight and we’ll keep communication open with you over the weekend.
9/7/17, 9:41PM EDT… The Lean People Development Summit and Lean Accounting & Management Summits are rescheduled for October 24-25 in Savannah, GA with optional workshops on the 23rd. If you were registered for the Summit, you are already registered and need to do nothing more. Our thoughts and prayers to all who are in the path of Irma as well as those still recovering from Hurricane Harvey and the wildfires out West.
9/7/17, 10:30AM EDT… As declared by Georgia’s Governor, Savannah is under a state of emergency due to the impending threat of Hurricane Irma. As a result, Leadership Week will be postponed. The good news is, we are currently working with the Hyatt Regency Savannah to reschedule dates for Leadership Week (Lean People Development Summit and Lean Accounting/Management Summit). In the meantime, if you had a room reservation at the Hyatt, the hotel has indicated they will cancel your reservation on your behalf. Also, please stay tuned to the website, orientation page, and direct communications from us on the rescheduled dates. We look forward to seeing you then!
